Samphire Neuroscience has developed Nettle, a headband that uses neurostimulation to reduce pain and improve mood.

Nettle uses transcranial direct current stimulation, or ‘tDCS’ to target two areas of the brain: one area helps manage pain signals and the other helps regulate mood and focus. Users wear the headband for just twenty minutes a day, for a few days each cycle.

One of the more thoughtful details is how Nettle handles personalisation. Rather than running on a generic 28-day cycle assumption, the companion Samphire app adapts to each user's individual pattern. The device is CE-marked and available across the UK and Europe.

In Samphire’s WIND trial, 72% of participants reported reduced pain within one cycle, and 67% noticed improvements in mood.
