Nike Mind is not one shoe but two, the Mind 001 mule and the Mind 002. Each have 22 anatomically mapped foam nodes that press into the soles of your feet. The idea is to stimulate mechanoreceptors and, in Nike's framing, activate sensory areas of the brain, so athletes feel calm, focused and present before a game. Erling Haaland and Victor Wembanyama are among those who tested it. Do you have a big game coming up? They might be worth a try.
Afon Technology Ltd's Glucowear is a wrist-worn continuous glucose monitor that uses ultra-low-power radio and microwave signals. No needle, no skin penetration, and no adhesive sensor to peel off and replace every couple of weeks. It pairs over Bluetooth to an app for Time in Range, and trend tracking. Afon says it avoids the recurring consumable cost of standard sensors. The current target is people with non-insulin-dependent type 2 diabetes, with gestational diabetes and fitness use planned in the future.
Beacon Biosignals renamed its Dreem 3S headband to Waveband. EEG electrodes and an accelerometer capture brain activity, movement, and body position overnight. This all happens at home, with data sent to an app as both raw EEG and standard clinical sleep measures. Beacon markets the automated staging as matching or exceeding human experts. It is built for clinical trials, clinical practice and research, not as a bedside sleep tracker.
Truthfully, some mules would be nice. So what interests you most: sensory nodes under your feet, tracking glucose without a needle, or monitoring your sleep with a headband?
